Skin Rejuvenation
At Your Skin Rn, we are committed to helping our patients in Waterloo achieve their aesthetic goals so they can feel like the best version of themselves. We offer platelet-rich plasma (PRP) treatments for skin rejuvenation for patients interested in reducing the visible effects of aging and improving the overall quality of their skin. We offer several variations of PRP treatments for skin rejuvenation in order to best fit the skincare needs of all our patients.
What is platelet-rich (PRP) plasma?
Platelet-rich plasma consists of a concentrated level of platelets, about five to ten times the amount found in blood circulating through the body, and is used to help regenerate and repair damaged tissues and stimulate circulation. Platelets are tiny blood cells that contain growth factors and other regenerative properties and are an important part of your body’s natural healing response. PRP is an autologous treatment, meaning it is derived from the patient’s own body, so there is virtually no chance of an adverse reaction. We often recommend platelet-rich plasma therapy to patients who are not candidates for dermal fillers due to allergies or other sensitivities. When used for aesthetic purposes, platelet-rich plasma stimulates the production of collagen and elastin, which works to tighten and tone the skin and improves the overall tone and texture of the skin.

PRP Therapy
Platelet-rich plasma can be injected directly beneath the surface of the skin for a more subtle facial rejuvenation. This treatment is ideal for patients who do not want or are not candidates for dermal fillers as the PRP will work to provide a gradual improvement in the tone and texture of the skin, and will improve the appearance of loose or lax skin and fine lines and wrinkles.

PRP with Fillers
Combining PRP therapy with dermal fillers will provide the most noticeable and most significant results. The injectable dermal fillers will immediately restore volume to the treated area and improve the appearance of most fine lines and wrinkles, while the platelet-rich plasma will work to improve the skin from a cellular level and will gradually tighten and lift the skin as new collagen is formed. The use of PRP with fillers not only enhances the skin tone and texture but also prolongs the effects of the dermal for three to six months.
